About Vegan India Conference 2024
An annual initiative by Vegan First, Vegan India Conference (VIC) stands out as one of the most coveted events shaping the plant-based ecosystem in India.. The conference addresses India's dire need for alternatives at the intersection of food, material and technology.
The third edition of the Vegan India Conference takes place on the 6-7th July 2024 at the Holiday Inn in Mumbai. VIC adopts a comprehensive approach to the industry, featuring over four conclaves that address a wide array of topics. With a strong focus on conscious businesses, VIC provides a platform to supercharge current and future plant-based businesses across all stages of their business growth.
Our food system is broken. It evinces a marked dysfunctionality. Approximately 40% of the grains produced are given to livestock instead of being consumed by humans. Every 60 seconds, humans slaughter 2-6 million animals worldwide. Furthermore, the substantial reliance on dairy in India has inadvertently contributed to a surge in leather production. Notably, animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of global warming.
